Biography
Saya Ota was born in Japan, began her piano studies at the age of five. She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed her Master’s degree and postgraduate course at Universitä t Mozarteum Salzburg with Prof. Jacques Rouvier and also she graduated at “Incontri col Maestro” International Piano Academy in Imola with Maestro Leonid Margarius.
She has received from several scholarships, including the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists, Munetsugu Angel Fund and Daiko Foundation.
She has won prizes in several competitions, including finalist at the 22th Brahms International Competition (Austria) in 2015, 1st prize at the 17th Scriabin International Piano Competition (France), 4th prize and special prize of ALOISE VECCHIATO‘s piece at the 46th Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition (Italy) in 2019, 2nd prize at the 9th Verona international piano competition (Italy), 2nd prize at the 40th Delia Steinberg International Piano Competition (Spain) in 2022, 1st prize at the 12th Massarosa International Piano Competition (Italy), “Rosa Sabater” prize, for the best interpreter of Spanish music, at the 64th International Piano Competition Premio Jaen, 1st prize and audience prize at the 8th Marbella International Music Competition (Spain), 3rd prize at Humberto Quagliata International Piano Competition (Italy) in 2023, 3rd prize at the 13th Osimo Piano Competition (Italy), 3rd prize at the 2nd International Piano Competition Saint Paul Trois Chateaux, 2nd prize at the 7th Orbetello International Piano Competition(Italy) and 1st prize, Schumann Special prize and audience prize at the 30th International Piano Competition “Giulio Rospigliosi” Premio Schumann.
She played with Grosseto Symphony Orchestra, orchestra « AMPLITUDE » and Filarmonisches Kammerorchester Wernigerode.
She has performed many recitals and been invited as a guest pianist in Japan(Tokyo, Kobe and Nagoya), spain(Jaen) and Italy(Bologna, Cremona, Modena, Napoli, Imola, Monzuno, Caserta and Capraia).
